At OTZShoes we know that the shoes you purchase can be expensive and therefore keeping your shoes in top condition is worth a little extra effort. The facts and tips below are ways to help you look after and even extend the natural life of your shoes.
Linen 300GMS (espadrilles)
We are frequently asked if our linen 300GMS can be washed. Yes they can, but first make sure to remove the footbed. They should be washed in cold water on a delicate cycle and air-dried. Don’t forget to then replace the footbed! (Note: it has been found that machine drying may shrink the shoe slightly.)
Taras (scandals)
Should the knot become untied in your Taras, please follow the following pictorial instructions:
Suede 300GMS & Shoes
Your suede shoes deserve special attention. Make sure they are cleaned and waterproofed regularly. Kiwi makes a good protector and others can be found in most stores that sell suede products and even some supermarkets.
If your suede shoes get wet, stuff them with newspaper while they dry to keep their shape. Always allow them to dry naturally and never put them near direct heat.
To remove dirt and stains, brush lightly with a soft suede brush or rubber eraser. Clean with a damp cloth using warm water. Note that suede shoes will look their best when brushed. KIWI suede brushes and cleaning blocks are a good choice for this purpose.
Leather Boots & Shoes
Dirt and other debris can get embed into leather. Shoe brushes and wipes can easily be used to remove excess dirt and debris. We have found that our leather boots particularly like good old saddle soap after cleaning.
Don’t forget you can use a protector to protect all of our leather shoes and boots from common stains caused by water, mud, dust, snow or salt.
